Top 10 New Games of 2022

Top 8 Latest Games Release in April 2022|MLB The Show 22|the house of the dead

April isn't a huge month for video games, but there's some good stuff coming.Hi everyone welcome to JJ GAMER and today on JJ GAMER the top eight new April games of 2022

MLB The Show 22

Now this is a series that's been going since 2006,
that started on the PlayStation 2.And it's a game that's been building some momentum in recent years.Since 2017, it's been doing significantly better than it had been for pretty much its entire lifespan, and it's due to it coming up with some pretty good ideas. Not saying that "21" was a particular revelation, not necessarily the kind of jump you would expectfrom a new generation of consoles. But same time, it was one that was targeted to be released on the previous generation as well, which we'll also be seeing with "The Show 22."mlb the show 22 release date is April 1, 202Eighth gen consoles are going to see some of the features, but it's the PS5 and Xbox Series that are going to be getting the full extent.Like, for instance, the Stadium Creator is going to be dynamic, which in layman's terms means you're gonna be able to do night games in your stadiums. We're also going to see 4K resolution, targeted at 60 frames per second on both of those consoles.Obviously, that's not something we'll see on the eighth-gen stuff. They've also completely revamped the commentary team,as well as the system underlying both of them.Apparently, there's about 45,000 lines of audio,350 recorded hours,so expect that to feel a lot more real this time around. In truth, this is a series that hasn't really disappointed, and like I said, has gained some momentum in recent years. So, I don't really expect this to be anythingthat bucks that trend.I think it's probably going to be an improvement over last year's.The real question is going to be how much of an improvement? It's nice that we're going to be seeing some features that are next-gen only. And it's also nice that we're gonna be seeing a Nintendo Switch version of the game."MLB The Show 22" comes out April 5th on the PlayStation, the Xboxes, and Switch.

The House of the Dead: Remake.

A Nintendo Switch exclusive
in which the original "The House of the Dead" game is being revamped with better graphics and support for the Joy-Cons as gyro controls. That's, of course, going to be a huge amount of fun."House of the Dead," the original,is just one of the most fun light gun games from the arcade in the 1990s.I mean, this is a game that George Romero, basically father of the zombie movie genre, credited as repopularizing the zombie concept in mainstream culture and that many people credit for introducing the fast-running zombie. For those unfamiliar,"House of the Dead" was a rail gun shooter in 1996,that came out in arcades. It was a huge thing. It was kind of the other type of zombie game, besides "Resident Evil,"that actually made it to a large level of popularity. And at the time, it had very good graphics.Obviously, they look pretty dated when you look at them now.But it introduced a lot of concepts like shooting in different places, creating different types of damage,in terms of how the zombie models responded. And they've really taken that and run with it.Obviously, the game doesn't really look like it plays a lot different, but in terms of aesthetic,it's been updated very significantly. However, I would even go ahead and say I don't think it feels radically different, despite the fact that if you put the old game next to the new game, it's night and day.I'm really excited to play this game again.Honestly, it's been a really long time. And I didn't really keep up with the series.I was a big fan of the first. But it was an arcade thing and arcades kind of died.I would like to see a resurgence of light gun games and maybe light gun peripherals. The developer teased the idea that they might release a light gun peripheral.Although just the fact that it works with Joy-Cons is gonna be good enough, I think."House of the Dead: Remake"is coming to the Nintendo Switch on April 7th.At number six is "tERRORbane," with "ERROR" in all caps. This is a sort of meta concept where the game is, in fact, a traditional J-RPG-type game, which utilizes the idea of the game being buggy on purpose for an effect. So, the game is designed to mimic bugs and glitches that you're supposed to use during the course of gameplay.Obviously, this is a comedy game, but at the same time, it's a really innovative concept that adds a completely new meta-layer to the gameplay in which you're not only dealing with bugs but you're actually using them to solve puzzles. The joke is that the game is sloppily designed and you're exploiting and cheating your way through that. It's a game based on what a lot of people do in games anyways, speedrunners in particular.I think this is a really innovative concept and if it turns out to be as good as it looks,it's going to be a must-play, particularly for people who have played games their entire lives. But I'd imagine that most people who watch gaming YouTube videos understand what's going on here. It's an idea that feels like it needed to happen, and I'm surprised it hasn't yet.But it's, obviously, not something I came up with either. So, big ups to BitNine Studio for coming up with this idea and I can't wait to play it.It's landing on the PC and Nintendo Switch April 1st.

Midnight Ghost Hunt

An actually novel-looking game,
in which there are two teams of four players, one is the ghosts, one is the ghost hunters. The game plays out as kind of half hide and seek, half first-person shooter, where matches are structured so that the ghost hunters come into a haunted location, look for ghosts and take them out until midnight. If they haven't taken out all of the ghosts by midnight, every ghost they have taken out comes back as a vengeful spirit and it becomes an all-out brawl."Midnight Ghost Hunt" is developed by Vaulted Sky Games and published by Coffee Stain Publishing. So, that's a publisher that has put out quite a few, like I said, novel games. You've got "Valheim," "Goat Simulator,""Satisfactory," "Deep Rock Galactic."This is a publisher that knows how to pick what games to publish. And between that and the concept the developers came up with,"Midnight Ghost Hunt" looks like a really interesting game and I think, has the potential to be something really big. They're entering Early Access early April. So, definitely go to Steam and check it out.

Back 4 Blood: Tunnels of Terror DLC

which adds two new characters
and a PvE mode called Ridden Hives. For all the criticism I've seen this game take,it's extremely popular and actually got pretty good reviews.I kind of think it was inevitable that a spiritual successor to such a popular series would draw some loud criticism. But for the most part, people are really excited for more content in this, and "Tunnels of Terror" looks to be exactly that.Aside from the other things I mentioned they added, there's also dungeons being added, specifically underground ones, hence the name "Tunnels of Terror."And with new types of places to walk around in,you're, of course, going to see new types of zombies and these ones are pretty grotesque. They look like something that would be grossand living underground,so, to me, this looks like not only a good but possibly a great expansion that's landing on April 12th.

CHRONO CROSS:"THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION

An HD remaster of, frankly, a very good game
that maybe didn't get the kind of attention it should have when it came out. Now, it was a pseudo-sequel "Chrono Trigger,"and it was a game that came out on the original PlayStation with, obviously, 3D graphics, and therefore, a lot could be done to make it look better. And that's exactly what has happened.Nothing's changed about the gameplay. You still get turned-based battles in a world where monsters are visible and therefore there are no random encounters. But 3D models, as well as the soundtrack, can be switched between the original version and a very faithful upgraded version. The soundtrack sounds basically the same but nicer. And the 3D models, I think if you weren't thinking about it and they didn't provide the choice, you might misremember the game as just having better graphics than it originally did.To some extent that's actually what happened to me with "House of the Dead."When the remake was announced, I went back to look at it.I was like, "Oh this looks way worse than I remember."In my head, the remake looked closer to the original than the original actually looked. That's not really the case here, as the game genuinely just looks like a better version of the original.Everything's very faithful and I think that's goodbecause the original is a good game,it's just in certain ways dated."THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION," I think is good,'cause there really isn't a way to play "CHRONO CROSS"that isn't massively tedious anyhow. And I'm certainly excited to play it when it lands on Windows, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One April 7th.

"Nintendo Switch Sports."

You're probably thinking to yourself,
"Oh, that sounds pretty generic." And it's actually kind of easy to forget that "Wii Sports" was what it wa and was as popular as it was. You'll actually be taking the Joy-Cons off of the Nintendo Switch and using them in a way very similar to the Wii Remote,to play various sports.Soccer, volleyball badminton, bowling, tennis, and even sword fighting. You'll also be able to use the "Ring Fit" leg strap, which will also be bundled with a physical copy of this game to play soccer. At launch, it's only going to work with the shootout mode but they'll be implementing an update later on for regular soccer.Obviously, this is one of those games where you're gonna ought to be able to play locally, but they're going to provide online gameplay as well. And frankly, this is just something I've missed.I don't want to hook up the Switch again.Uses very old-style wiresand it has a light bar to tell what's going on.And frankly, I'm just excitedto have a hassle-free version of "Wii Sports."That's pretty much what it looks like we're getting here. And it's landing on Nintendo Switch April 29th.

"LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga."

I have continually said I'm excited for this.
I really wanna play it.I just don't care at allabout the final of the "Star Wars" movies.Like, one through eight, I'm there for.I'm kind of hoping that this game does something to acknowledge how mish-mashed that last movie is.I don't know.I don't expect it to,they're typically fairly reverent with these.Although, they may have made some jokes at the expensive various "Star Wars" things. It's at least a humor-oriented version of it.So, I have my hopes. If you don't how "Lego Star Wars" is by now it's because you've missed a large amount of games that have been very big in the gaming zeitgeist. It's an action-adventure game where you get to play as a ton of different people from the "Star Wars" movies. And you play them through various scenarios. And the dialogues just a bit more self-aware than regular "Star Wars."As such, it's very funny. It's very fun.And to be frank, I'm looking forward to this take. This is probably the definitive take on the "Lego Star Wars" series. So, I'll be playing "LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga"when it lands on the PlayStations, the Xboxes, Windows, and Switch April 5th.Couple of bonus games for you.First, "Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles."A 3D puzzle platformer with some very original and interesting visuals that is simultaneously reminiscent of a '90s game to me but doesn't look like anything I've ever seen.If you're on PC, there's a demo available, but it's also coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. That is landing on April 21st."Kaiju Wars" puts you in the driver's seat of the military versus big  monsters, ALA Japanese monster movies. You basically have to build a city and defend it in a turn-based strategy format, with a, frankly, very cool art style. And finally, "13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim,"a game set in 1980s Japan, with high school students drawn into a war,not unlike "Neon Genesis Evangelion" with mechs and Kaiju. When you're not fighting,it's a side-scrolling adventure game. When you are fighting, it's a real-time strategy game. And frankly, that combination of things,as well as the fact it's an Atlus game,I'm very there for it.It's coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 14th.That's all for today.Leave us a comment.
